  2. Maplesoft Hawks and Combat Sports have teamed up for this years Canada Day Cup Tournament: http://www.bellsensplex.ca/tournament-youth-details.php?tID=434 Right now the following teams are registered: Maplesoft Hawks Bytown Bruins (Jason York) Wizzard/Canada Cup Warrirors (Ottawa) Montreal Sherifs There is still room for more teams looking for a fun tournament at a great venue (Bell SensPlex in Kanata) and who will face solid competition. Most of the Ottawa teams have a mix of players from various spring teams. The cup is not going to be an easy one to bring home, so bring a team that's up for the challenge! Note: the tournament in 2K1is non-contact due to the facilities new insurance rules and policy.
  3. DERNIERS RUMEURS AAA 2001

For Maplesoft Hawks (black) the rumours are not true. Two of the Riot players choose to stay with the Riot for 2012 instead of joining with us for the season. Maplesoft Hawks are looking solid for 2012 we added some very good players to our core. We also have some top players from the Montreal area joining us for our April tournaments. We will be participating in the Selects Top Tier Tournament in Toronto as well as the 3 Supers in Quebec. If anyone is looking for a good 'warm-up' tournament please come to Casselman tournament in April 13-15 (http://www.piratesaaa.com). We are still looking for 1-2 top players to join us, for the Quebec tournaments. Maplesoft Hawks http://www.leaguelineup.com/welcome.asp?url=hawks2k1
  4. Tournoi de la relève de St-Hubert

What an excellent way to end the spring/summer season! The Voltigeurs, Jr. Lions and Maplesoft games were all exciting. What great hockey and experience for our kids. The final was such an exciting back and forth game. The 3rd period was intense and showed good character and depth on both sides with multiple come backs and go ahead goals. Congrats to all & best of luck to all in this winter. I look forward to spring 2012 and picking-up where we left off. The reffing ... well lets not go there :)
  5. classique AAA Montéal du 12 au 14 août 2011

    Maplesoft Hawks will be there.
  6. Montreal Meltdown 2011

First of all, great tournament and performance by many. It was great hockey to watch. Congrats to the Jr. Lions for beating the Wild (who is an exceptional team). I wasn't able to see that game, but would have loved to see how that was done. So many good teams and close games. In almost every game it was a matter of a few different bounces, a penalty call (or missed one), a wickedly close but missed opportunity, a killer save ... that's just great hockey! For Maplesoft Hawks ... we were exceptional proud to be competing with such good teams and knowing that we lost in a 10 player (our entire bench) shoot-out to the CT Yankees who were right there in the final is quite something. I do have to say beating Pro Hockey was a highlight :) Good luck to all who haven't finished their 2011 season.
  7. Tournoi 67 d ottawa

Thanks to those for the the nice comments above on the Maplesoft Hawks. The 67’s was a good tournament and had a good variety of teams. However, I do not agree how they organized the tournament this year. With the Hawks and the Voltigeurs in the same division, only one was able to move from the division and there was not chance to claw your way back for a second chance in the semi’s or final. I’ve voiced my opinion on that to the organizing committee as I hope others do. A second meeting (Hawks vs Voltigeurs) in that tournament would have been exciting and good hockey to watch (similar to the Sheriff Outlaws vs the Hawks at the Cassleman tournament). The problem to me this year in Ottawa overall is that 1 or 2 ‘big’ teams went to each tournament instead of concentrating on one or two. I’d like to see some of the tournaments do different categories and will be pushing for that. The reality is that our team is from the greater Ottawa/Outaouais area and we want to play a few tournaments in our own city. Other years we’ve seen better participation from Montreal & Quebec teams in a few of them. The Ottawa Meltdown was supposed to be the ‘big’ tournament here, but for whatever reason none of the ‘big’ teams from out of town chose to come. The Hawks team is looking forward to the upcoming Montreal Meltdown tournament in June. It will be interesting to play the high level teams and see where we place. We look forward to the challenge. I do anticipate the team will be in more of the ‘big’ tournaments next year and I hope that we can concentrate the attendance for other top teams to specific tournaments in Ottawa (Cassleman, Ottawa Meltdown, 67’s …).
  8. Tournaments in Ottawa?

What teams are planning to go to tournaments in Ottawa? What tournaments?
  9. Super AAA 2011

For the person that mentioned the Riot Red 2K1 .. I'm sure they have heard that they have dissolved for 2011 ... which is truly unfortunate. Many have a new home under the Maplesoft Hawks ... who I think is a team to watch this year.
