NIAGARA will lose the AAA and go back to AA...

Good morning everyone,

By now you have probably heard that the OMHA is contemplating dissolving the Niagara Falls AAA Zone for the 2014 & 2015 Season.

The OMHA attempted to do this once before in 2010, and we were successful at keeping AAA hockey alive and well in Niagara Falls. We are prepared to fight for your children once again. The catalysts in this effort to remove AAA hockey are the Board of Directors from NOTL and Fort Erie. 75% of the Niagara Falls AAA Zone is comprised of Niagara Falls children. It is up to all of us to protect our children's hockey program.

Dissolving AAA hockey in Niagara Falls will displace approximately 150 Niagara Falls children who want to play at the highest calibre of hockey they can. The OMHA would force Niagara Falls residents to play in adjacent centres throughout the Niagara Region. While currently undetermined, your child's home centre could be St. Catharines or Welland. If this comes to fruition, your child could possibly be playing hockey out of the following feeder centre arenas/cities; Port Colborne, West Lincoln, Jordan, Dunnville, Merriton, Haig, Bill Burgoyne, Seymour Hannah, Welland Main, Welland Youth, Peach King Centre, NOTL, Fort Erie, Wainfleet, and Thorold.

If AAA remains in Niagara Falls, you will be playing at the Gale Centre.

With dissolving 9 AAA teams in Niagara Falls and forcing your children to participate in regional programs run by Welland or St. Catharines, your child's chances at being signed to a AAA team will realistically and significantly decrease.

We strongly believe it is in your child's best interest if we continue to fight to retain the Niagara Falls AAA Zone.

The OMHA needs to hear your voices, and your determination to save your child's hockey program. From Monday, April 22 to Wednesday, April 24, a member of our Executive will be at the Gale Centre with a petition for you to sign. The OMHA has given us a strict deadline of Friday, April 26 at noon to submit any and all paperwork to argue on behalf of your children.

This matter is urgent, and we are asking for your help.

In addition to signing the petition this week, you may also contact R------- R------ the Executive Director of the OMHA. You may contact him at------------@----- If you choose to email him, please be sure to cc the Niagara Falls AAA Zone at this email address.

On behalf of the Executive and your children, we thank you.

Kind Regards,

The Niagara Falls AAA Zone Executive
