  2. D1 Ouvert en 2016

All politics aside - it does end up diluting the talent on both sides. I agree that when it comes to Division 1 hockey, there shouldn't be restrictions put in place. All of the parents who have their kids playing D1 put a lot of time and money into developing their kids so that they can play with the best of the best. It's also not fair to the D2 teams who get slaughtered trying to play in tournaments against D1 teams - ask the 2008 Titans about that one lol The most fun and challenging tournaments were the ones that we went to last year which were open to any team - win or lose.
  3. Sondage - Frais d'inscription MAHG et Novice

It's also $420 in Chomedey to register. Novice A will be asking for extra $ to get more practices, so I assume the total cost will be around $800.
  4. Montreal summer classic

We have a pickup team that is going.
  5. Toronto King of the Ring (KOR 2)

I I believe the Royals Elite 2007 is a pickup team that is actually just borrowing their name/jerseys.
  6. Toronto King of the Ring (KOR 2)

I know of a 2007 team that is going, but I'm not sure if they're looking for players. The tournament is in Toronto though, not Kingston. Here is a list of the teams that are registered: http://www.ccthockey.com/teams-registered.aspx?pageid=25&ItemID=107&mid=31
  7. Congratulations to our Quebec teams at Kingston!

What a great weekend we all had at the Kingston Prospects Challenge! Our Quebec teams did amazing as usual, with the Royals Elite coming in 1st and Gouverneurs Selects 3rd during the round robin. Both our teams advanced to the finals where the Royals Elite won 5-1!!! Thank you to the Bisons Rouge players who were able to fill in for the boys on our team who were unable to make it to the tournament. Can't wait to see you guys next year! On a side note, I was expecting a bit more from this tournament. No player announcements, anthem singing, mascot, light show, MVP awards, trophies, etc... Our coaches even put the medals on the kids themselves lol. It just felt like more of a regular game than the finals to a "prospect challenge" tournament. Maybe they should take some notes from the CCM & Meltdown tournaments ;-)

LOL - I think you and your sources are confused HockeyExpert  Yes, we had players from the Bisons Rouge, but the Gouverneurs Elites also took their best two attackers... one of which scored many goals for them this tournament. With or without the Bisons players, the Gouverneurs Elites are an excellent group of kids that won all 4 tournaments - Bravo!! But they are not in a league of their own; winning 5-2 in the finals is no blowout. The true test of LEAAAQ vs LEHQ will be when we see you in Kingston.
  10. de 2007D1 a 2008D1 ???

Congratulations to the Gouverneurs Elites for their victory at the Meltdown! I've been following the comments in this thread and after having played against the Gouverneurs Selects team twice this past weekend, I can say that #80 is the best 2008 forward I have seen so far. It was a real pleasure to watch him play... and to watch our team stop him in the semi-finals ;-) As for the dirty plays - there were a lot of them. The Gouverneurs Selects kids were slashing, going for our kids' knees, diving into them, etc. It's one thing to be aggressive and play with passion, and it's another thing to make borderline dangerous plays. There were many penalties called, one for a body check against the boards. And there were many questionable plays that were not called. As for the coaches not encouraging this? Hmmm... It's easy to point the finger in many different directions (parents, coaches...), but in the end the coach has the decision of who to put on the ice. If players are continually doing the same thing, the coach has to put his foot down and bench them until it stops. Encouraging (or not stopping) this behaviour is not going to help in the development of their skills and is only going to hurt the players in the long run. My 2 cents.
