-
Bien sûre que c’est raisonnable. As I mentioned earlier on this thread. LSL has a new reality. It’s no ones fault. It’s just a new reality. Competition from schools is just too important to ignore. They should stay with 1 and 2 for sometime as 3 out of 4 current birth years have been decimated by schools. Ensuring competitiveness (not killer teams) just competitiveness is the best way to keep kids in civic hockey. Good decision. GBS!

GBS! Les amis. GBS!

-
Moize In general you are right. I agree with your thinking. But in the bantam situation, the structure doesn't have enough players to play in two teams. It is now dangerous if you don't have a minimum caliber to play at this level. HQ and the board of SIL will end up having to deal with lawsuits from parents if they don't do what they are elected to do... Which is being responsible. Its not about having less teams for SIL to beat up on every other team. Its to be able to have 15 kids that can actually play at this level!
-
Mais non - they don’t care!
-

But in Civic hockey if you want to surclass, they need to evaluate if the parents are normal, if the siblings are ok, if the granma and granpa are old enough, they also want to see if the player is tall, short, thin, fat, shoot from the right or from the left.... its a complete joke! Hockey below Midget AAA is a MOCKERY in our belle province! but Midget AAA and above, its doing very well... you know why?! What's the common denominator?! NOT managed by Hockey Quebec. What a sad story!
-
It is so sad! Hockey Quebec does not care about kids and caliber. These kids have been losing for 3 years now, because the structure have to deal with school competition. They had 32 kids or so at the camp (out of which 6 goalies - They don't even have enough players to make 2 teams). Half of them should not even be trying and I am not saying it pejoratively. It is just a fact. To give you an example, few players during the camp decided to play pretty hard. 5 out of the 32 did not show up the second day! Let that sink in... This is bantam AAA hockey. If they had one team they would barely be competitive, not strong, just enough to compete. But who cares?! HQ and LSL board are disgusting. Sorry to say it as blunt. Wake up! Hockey in Quebec is sick because its managed by morons at HQ. MORONS! the kids should be at the fore front of every decision. Not the power that those illiterate idiots that are running HQ and more precisely LSL region, needs to feel good about themselves. As you can see, I don't hold them in much respect. SAD!

Any surprises until now?

Bonjour I can tell you that they beat us fair and square. It was a good game. Don't think any of our parents (and kids) would see it any other way. Bonne Journee

Lac St Louis Region is clearly the strongest league in the province. Very interesting and surprising results.
-
Buddy - prozac would be the right thing at this stage.

Guys come on! For full disclosure, I am very close to that team (which seems to be hated by everyone here - not sure why?) The Meltdown 07 D1 had very strong pick up teams. None of the teams the Lions faced was a regular team. All where pick ups. Some teams had the exact July brick roster (Rangers, London Royals) and some others had 3 to 6 brick players on their teams. Instead of beating up on a group of 9 years old, we should be proud of what they achieved. 4:0 against the snipers (2:0 with 3 minutes to go in the game is not bad). 4:4 against boston (is not bad). 4:1against V Red (the finalists) (1 goal in empty net) is also not bad. The last game was a though one (even if they entered into the 3rd period down 0:2) Also knowing that they had 2 out of 6 forwards not very healthy didn't help (not using it as an excuse, but its a fact). Team would've most probably lost anyway, but the decision to play in 07 d1 was a noble one and based on their results at the ccm and in exhibition games vs 07 D1. Until the meltdown, they had lost 2 games vs 07 D1 out of 8. And they didn't play against weak teams. They actually played and beat 07 D1 tournament winners. This team was built by picking up some of the best players of few regular D1 teams. Not sure why everyone wants to compare them to rest of the 08 D1 pack. If you are being objective (which seems to be a challenge), the level of the 08D1 at the meltdown (Across) was very weak. Some 09 teams were better then many 08's. That's not a shot at anyone but it's a fact. Keep it up... and have a great summer.
-
Come on man! Not fair for any regular team to play a pick up team... not fair for the kids.
-
That was exactly my point...
-
Oh my! I am sure you guys have a biased to your team, which is fair... but you cant be serious?! Or am I missing a joke here!
-
Merci
-
@steph78 One other thing, you're saying their goalies are not in the top 3 -4 of the 2008. you may be right, but this is when you are comparing their performances vs 07 D1. against 08's I am sure it"s different.
-
@Steph78 Just looked at the website of the tournament. Not many local teams at the hall of fame. Chicago Pre Brick Detroit (MW) Pre Brick New England Pre Brick Ontario Select (their B team played at the brick series) etc... The team from quebec washed the whole tournament... from a to z. We should be proud of our own not hit them down. No quebec team won anything in TO for a long time. This team did well. Agree with @AiglesSTJ, these kids are better suited in 07 D1. They also played 07 D1 in exhibition games and did beat big teams! As for those TO teams that everybody talks about, it's not like they are killing our teams. - Royals Elites played last year in the ccha tournament, they lost in semi (they beat the Cameron Bulldogs (the winners of the tournament) and got beaten by them in semi). They did great! - Oilers played last year the brick series and went to the final. They did great!. - Vikings played Top Tier and went to final. beat pro hockey and lost to them in Final. They did great! - Oilers this year brick series lost in Semi. They also did great! All that to say, that we have good teams as well and now we have a team that seems to be stronger then all TO 2008. Whats wrong with that?
