  1. et Dans l'ATEQ 2000

I keep hearing 2 Red Wing teams. Is Dollas coaching both?
  2. regionnaux atome bb

Lasalle vs. Lakeshore Anyone who has ever seen Lasalle play in the last 3 years knows they cut the bench big time in tight games. They have a 2 center system to start with. Lakeshore comes out of a very very strong division. Outside of Lasalle, I do not think anyone is rooting for the Boas. They again snuck one through the 5 hole of Hockey Quebec. Stop complaining about the refs and dumb comments about getto. Sit back and enjoy.
  3. et Dans l'ATEQ 2000

Lets be serious. A challenge division will improve quality of play in ATEQ. You cannot compare it to Super AAA of THAAQ. To do that, you would need Super AAA calibre players. Unless they are coming over to ATEQ...please lets not get exagerrated. There are only so many elite level players around. I am not hearing many defections to ATEQ of this elite level players.
  4. Qui sont les meilleurs 2003 et 2004 ?

The point is that I have been in arenas long enough to know how ridiculous it is name players at a young age. Most people reading this are smart enough to know that the point of the making a list is to get their kids names noticed. I am willing to guess that the ones who take offense  are those whose kids are on the list. LOL.
  5. Rumeur: H-Q veut éliminer le AAA l'an prochain

The big issue to me is recruiting during the season. Kids are still with club teams and sneaking off to practices or tryouts for AAA and then showing up for "team games" exhausted. The process needs to be streamlined.
  6. Contact: hockey usa songe à le mettre à 13 ans

The reason for delaying checking is multiple. Kids need to physically develop. Watch any PeeWee game. Some kids have gone through their big growth spurt and some have not. Most importantly, we know alot more about the long-term impact of concussions now and exposing kids to the higher risk at a younger age is wrong. I see kids in double letters who still need work on "hockey skills" before focusing on checking. Frankly, parent coaches just lack the training to teach checking at the young ages.
  7. Qui sont les meilleurs 2003 et 2004 ?

This is my point. I know alot of guys playing college hockey and high levels who were in the lowest levels at a young age. The common denominator is what put them over the top is that when they turned 12+ years old, they made the decision to dedicate themselves and work on their game. It is great that parents take an active interest in their child at the age of 4 to 6 or whatever. However, lets be honest at that age the dream is as much the parents' dream as it is the child's dream. What is the purpose of naming kids at that young an age in a forum like this. I am curious.
  8. Qui sont les meilleurs 2003 et 2004 ?

Let me ask you this...how are all these kids doing at school? :( I never put down any of these kids. I just said any list is silly at this point. the fact that parents take this as a personal insult makes my point. My kids long ago finished amateur hockey. I go to arenas to watch friend's kids or nephews play. It is incredible to me how many parents obsess with their kids "rankings" at the age of 5 or 6. Here is a life lesson. 99.999% of these kids will be playing in the same beer league in 15 years. Let them enjoy and play at the age of 5 or 6 and do not pin rankings on their head. I know the kids do not read these forums but, believe it or not I have seen parents show their kids stuff written here. Sorry for not writing in french. I am originally from out West.
  9. Tournoi National Atome 2011 - 20e édition

Lasalle's defense are good BUT, and here is a big BUT. They have a terrific group of back checking forwards that takes all the pressure off of the defense. Hats off to the 4 quarter finalists: Gladiateurs (Vaudreuil), Lasalle, Deux Rives and Fed Est. Alot of games won to get there. Teams get a well earned rest and wait for the next 4.
  10. Tournoi National Atome 2011 - 20e édition

Lasalle had their hands full tonight. I was there to watch a friend's kid on Versant Ouest. Lasalle were not dominated and Versant did not control game. Versant played a great system. Lasalle is an extremely talented team. I have seen 2 of their other games and they were not at their best tonight.
  11. Qui sont les meilleurs 2003 et 2004 ?

It is a little bit silly to make a list. Why? Some kids at this age do not play Spring AAA hockey. There are alot of good players who feel they will be better off doing other forms of development. The kids dominating in Spring AAA are those who got a head start on other kids. it is too early to be ranking kids. Watch them play a couple of years of Novice first.
  12. Boas lasalle numero 1

Is not the Lasalle coach a "paid" coach?
  13. Boas lasalle numero 1

Yes. Nice to be able to have only 1 team and beat the system. Some great players...but lets be honest. Other organizations would post some amazing records to if they could come down to 1 team.
  14. Best Novice A Team

The Lasalle Lions did play a team up from the states. I used the term "goodwill" tour to highlight it was a friendly exhibition game. They won 18-0 or something like that. Everyone in Lac St.Louis region knows what happened this year. Case in point. The regional QuarterFinal. The Lions leading 5-0 against a Lakeshore team. The game was in the second period. The Lions went for the mercy rule and put number 10 on even more often. Instead of allowing the other kids to play and get some experience, they choose to embarrass the other team. I watched the finals with some people I knew from other associations. Number 10 did not make any passes the entire game. The only kids who passed were their defense. And yes...with game 4-0...number 10 was triple shifted because they wanted to end the final with a mercy rule of 7-O.
  15. Best Novice A Team

I felt an urgent need to post when I saw the Lasalle Lions getting good publicity in the GAzette. Before I start...this is not an assault on the kids on that team. This is aimed at the coaches and some of their parents. I have a connection with someone who is involved with the St.Laurent Novice A's. So I know alot about the Lasalle team and what they are all about. The Lasalle team has some really good talent. So do alot of other teams. The Lasalle team assembled its record on the backs of 3 or 4 players including one star playing 70% of the time. Instead of trying to develop their shortened roster of 11, they chose to showcase 3-4 players at most and 1 especially. Everyone in Lac St.Louis aside from some Lions parents and players obviously have nothing but contempt for this team. Quoting stats of 8 and 9 year olds is reprehensible. Do you know they beat a Novice B team for the US on a goodwill tour 18-0...talk about padding your stats. I watched them beat a good Lakeshore team in the regionals. The Lakeshore team rolled 3 lines. I saw them beat a good Pierrefonds team in the final that also played its bench. Why is a player like number 10 playing 70% of a game where the score is already 6-0? The purpose of Novice A is developing your entire roster. Any coach who does differently should never coach again. All I see in this thread are the Lions parents promoting their children. You should be ashamed. There are alot of great Novice kids out there....you guys are the only ones quoting your "fattened" stats. I also saw the regional final against the Pierrefonds team. Pierrefonds outshot and outchanced the Lions team...despite having 3 to 4 more penalties and despite number 10 playing most of the game. One time was just more opportunistic...it happens. There were players on Lasalle who barely played. I missed their semi-final game against Soulange but, I was told it was the same story despite a lopsided score. Yeah 51-0 is nice. Gives the coaches something to remember in their rocking chairs. Fact is no one outside of the Lions respects that team and what they did to win.
