Tournoi Montreal Meltdown à Pierrefonds
captain canada a répondu à un sujet de HockeyCoach dans 2000
Friday's game was horrible. Our kids didn't come out to skate and I'm sure the Glads could have looked alot better as well seeing they have been competing successfully against supers. Neither team looked great, just hope they are both ready for the meltdown. Good luck! Maybe we meet again with all of our players there so we can beat you next time. -

If I came off as being negative, I apologize b/c that was not my intent. When entering these tournaments, it is a reality that sometimes there is an easier pool, or that a team may have a favorable schedule, nothing wrong with that. This is just my opinion and that's all it is. Personally, i like the wolverines team, they are big, can skate, and at this time are very hungry. They have a lot to prove. Goh, you're right I don't know much but I will have a better opportunity to see them tomorrow as we are playing them tomorrow night. Oakville, well I did say that they will be strong, as well as cantonniers and durham. We know at this time the Jr.Lions are not too strong but like ity was said earlier, the game is played on the ice. Which ever team shows up, will win. I must say that I am rooting for Global all the way!!!! They don't evr quit, and they just keep coming and coming! A bunch of hardworkers who don't know the meaning of quit. A compliment to their entire coaching staff and a bunch of great parents. Global may surprise a lot of people. Thye have no superstars, just guys who love to play and work hard. If interested in becoming part of this movement, hit me up privately. -

this is going to be a very competitive tournament in the regular division. I don't know much about the Durham Ice Breakers, but rumors have it that they are evry strong. My pick to come out of pool A will most likely be Durham or Cantonniers. The cantonnier team is very good team. My darkhorse team are those kids in blue whom seem to be competitive in every tournament, but for some reason has not had the opportunity to advance like soem of the other teams, in this i speak f Global Hockey. Watch it for this team, they may play spoiler. In Pool B, man i hate to say it, but I feel that the Wolverines have an easy schedule. For this reason, I think the Wolverines will be holding one of the a tops spots. After their letdwon at NRJ, They will be coming at all teams hard, so there is no doubt that they will be ready for the meltdown. Oakville will be the other team holding the other spot. Good luck to all teams, at least we don't have to worry about the refs or any other surprisng circumstances as this is one of the best tournaments. I hope to see Global Hockey in the finals. -
can anyone tell me where sam houde is playing now?

Congratulations to all teams in the Vipers tournament. I didn't like the fact there were 10 teams, with only 1 pool. Using fastest goal is not the greatest criteria to decide tie breakers. Also, some of the stats seemed to be a bit questionable b/c in seeing the games closely and viewing the times that were posted for fatest goals, were not on par. I would also like to congratulate the Monachs for a terrifc game, as well as Global Hockey. Only being in their 2nd year, it looks they are having a fun and exciting aaa season. Anyone looking for great development, and a fun atmosphere, stay tuned for upcoming news on Global Hockey.

no need to apologize b/c i felt the same way. There were teams that had a very favorable schedule and you don't need to look to hard to see who they were. As you stated, there were some good teams, some good hockey, and it looks like this year will be very competitive.

wolverines 2 Global Hockey 2

Among the 3 super teams, who may be the best team. I hear so much about the Ice rebels, but what about the Ice dragons or even the Vipers. I don't hear about Vipers? Are they any good this year? I hear they lose a few players. Who?

anyone has the score to the ice dragons and jr.lions
-
wolverines 4- 2. Very good game!

Naturals are only go so far. Hard work and repeated practice takes an individual a lot further. Jordan, was he a natural? Yes, to a degree that naturally in his time, no one ahd worked harder than him. He also had natural abilites that many others players didn't have. But remember, genetics also have a lot to do with it as it was stated earlier. He had the jumping ability along with his tremondous work ethic and constantly getting beat by his older brother when they would play. Some kids are just more athletic than others in the sense that they can adapt or excel at any sport when given an opportunity. When we see stars on t.v, we see them scoring and all the highlight wheels, but we never see them off camera working there asses off. At this age, the dominant kids will not be so dominat in a few b/c of the fact that everyone catches up, and now everyone is doing some type of development. A product of your environment has a lot to do with it. I walk around arenas, speak to parents and a lot of our kids get babied, it's is not helping one bit.

in respect to daniel turbide's question, no i don't think he had a medicore team. my point was I respect him as a coach and what he does with his players that I'm sure if he had medicore players he would get the most from them. If this was the case, and he won all tournaments, would they be considered the best players? I believe a ranking system should be set up where agility, speed, strength, stickhandling, shooting, and over-all skating ability should be assessed in a combine camp like they do in football. I know it's a lot, but it's just to keep things fair. We all know how hockey works in quebec.

1st of all there's no need to excuse yourself for your errors because there weren't many. Secondly, i hope I did not offend anyone b/c it seems as if I initiated an agressive reaction by a few people out there and that was not my intent. When you speak of coaching, you are absolutley right that a coach can be the difference in winning and losing. But sometimes, it's not all about winning and losing, and that's why my ideology of development differs from most other people. The coaching staff from the Vipers are excellent. He (pat) can take a mediocre team and put them on the ice and probably still win his share of games. All I am saying is that what made these kids the best in 2000 or any other kids the best in 99, 01. The last time I checked, it was carey price assessing these kids. And if you read carefully, i did agree to that a lot of strong players do play for those3 super teams, but it doesn't mean they are the best until they are ranked like everything else is ranked. cars, food, even women get ranked accordingly, so why wouldn't these kids be ranked. And if they are, please let me know where i can read it. Actually, carey price since you are always on this site and you do know a lot about what's going on, can you send me a list of top 200 from 1 to 30 by name and postion? oh ya, you can continue in english, you write pretty well!

John_latou, who ranked these players that you speak of by saying the top 30 of the 35 players are already playing with the ice dragons or ice rebels. Your comment to coupe stanley is a joke. Were the players ranked by a separate ranking committee, or is it just carey price and his fanatics doing what they do best in promoting their children? Where are these players from, b/c i follow the ice rebels and ice dragons, and some of the players on those teams should not be spoken of as being some of the best in the 2000 class. Are any of these players from quebec city, or the gatineau area, cause if not then you should not be saying that the best players are on those teams. These kids are only 9 years of age, and you are already speaking about the best. Wait until hitting starts, half of those 30 players you speak of has just diminished to about 15. Coupe stanley, you had a lot of kids at your try-outs and i will agree that a lot of the stronger players do play for either super aaa team,( ice rebels or ice dragons, but people don't realize that a lot of kids don't play aaa b/c of all the ******* that surrounds it. go recruit from the other regions in quebec, guarantee you will find the right mix of kids that can challenge those so called 30-35 kids.
