  1. Rumeur: H-Q veut éliminer le AAA l'an prochain

  2. Direction Boston College pour Michael Matheson

Je suis d'accord avec toi. Go Boston Terriers Go!!!! Go Redmen Go!!! :P
  3. Rumeur: H-Q veut éliminer le AAA l'an prochain

  5. Qui sont les meilleurs 2003 et 2004 ?

First off, you don t have to apologize for writing en anglais. Unfortunately, I cannot speak for the academic exploits of the children on this list. My child is doing quite well in school. I can also tell you that some of the parents of these players are highly educated and very successful. I would doubt that any reasonable parent would sacrifice education for hockey. As for obsessing with rankings, I am sure that there are some fanatics out there. However, logic dictates that only a few should obsess over rankings. Those who obsess should naturally be those whose children are at the very top. Everyone else just plays. Furthermore....who ranks these kids? It’s certainly not Hockey Quebec. I think what we see here are the opinions of some well informed hockey people (and there seems to be many of these types in this forum). I agree with you. Most of these players will end up playing in some garage league. No one here is saying that these kids will play pro. Like I said earlier...they are just some of the best now. I also agree with regards to letting these kids play. At this age, they should have fun. The day that my children tell me that they no longer want to play hockey is the day I take them out of the game. Its that simple. Finally, I am very proud of my children’s exploits both in academia and extracurricular activities. My boy is young, creative, hardworking and mature for his age (I find). My wife and I are very proud of him and my other children, so when someone tries to diminish their success in anyway it’s natural to want to defend them. So if this makes me a silly person, then silly I am. That being said, I am looking forward to this AAA season.
  6. Qui sont les meilleurs 2003 et 2004 ?

Is it silly to make a list? Maybe, but it is what it is. It is a list of kids who at this point in time are leaps and bounds beyond your average city league player. I have no doubt that there are some good players out there who chose not to engage in spring / summer hockey who may develop into great players. Personally, I feel that it is important for a child's development to play other sports throughout the year. This multi-disciplined philosophy should, in theory, produce a well rounded athlete by taking abilities learned in other sports and applying them to each. Given this, each parent or guardian is free to do whatever they choose. As for watching these players for a couple of years in Novice first, well, I can tell you that the kids on this list (who I have seen play) are capable of playing at the Atom level (today) at least. I would even dare to say some at the double letter level. I think it is somewhat unfair of you to say that players who dominate AAA hockey are kids who got a head start. What kind of a head start are you talking about? I know for a fact that one player on that list has only been playing for 3 years. What head start did he get? What about attributing a player’s success to hard work, dedication, or love of the sport? Do not diminish these kids’ abilities by saying that they got a head start. At the very least, say that they have natural athletic ability????? All this being said, I think your point is lets wait and see how good these players really are if and when other players catch up to them. Only time will tell. Typically what I hear is, ‘’Wait until puberty hits’’ or ‘’Wait until hitting comes into the picture. Some players cannot adapt…..’’ These are all ‘X’ factors that cannot be accounted for. No one is saying that these kids will dominate forever. Just that these kids are some of the best NOW.
