Salut Carey, First off I would just like to mention that the team going to the KOTR's will be going as the Stallions/Titan. However, the team was chosen by a committee of people based on everyone's performances during the spring AAA season & finalized by Marcin Snita who was activily evaluating during the weekend of the Meltdown. That being said, this is not the official Brick team but we believe that most of these kids have a shot of making the eventual Brick. First off, who are you Optimousse Prime? Secondly; 1- Absolutety the Ice Rebels beat us 1-0 no doubt about it. Most would say (including myself) that they dominated posession of the puck in our zone. That being said, the final score of that game could have gone either way since we missed 3 breakaways, including hitting a post on one of them. I never took anything away from the Ice Rebels, nor do I intend on diminishing their victory & Championship at St-Hubert. 2- For the Stallions, this the tourney of Champions was not taken seriously as our spring season finished on the weekend of the NRJ tourney (which was June 2nd). The tourney of Champions that was added at the end of June was an additional fun tourney that was simply added to our schedule. We did not add any additional practices or players from our organization to prepare for it so all I'm saying is that the Stallions did not take the tourney as serious as the Meltdown or any of the other tourneys we had originally planned to attend. That being said, if we would have won it, we would have surely been proud of it but honestly the tourney we really wanted to win was the Meltdown as it's by far the most prestegious tournament out there in my opinion. I would like to add that our team and organization is very proud of how we finished & where we finished and I always give credit & congratulations to the teams that have beaten us, namely the Vipers, Ice Dragons, & Ice Rebels from the THAAAQ. Now how about you answer my question?

Actually I don't think I started these rankings or this post.... and besides, I'm just having fun with them.

Dexter, I have absolutely no issues with being 3rd, 2nd, 5th, 8th or any other number. It's very subjective these rankings and honestly they mean absolutely nothing.

Merci Carey pour la motivation : ) The 2006 crop of players are extremely high in caliber and it was a great year. To me the tourney of Champions doesn't prove who really is the best team out there as I know for our team our season officially ended June 2nd and we hadn't had a real practice since May. That being said, I do not want to take anything away from the winner & finalist as they proved all spring that they were worthy of being where they are. Here is in my opinion the ranking of the top 5 teams; 1- Ice Rebels 2- Stallions/Titan Gold (my biased opinion of course!) 3- Ice Dragons 4- Vipers 5- Nordique Prospect Next year will be different as the teams that think they can play with only 9 players will find it very difficult to compete unless those 9 players are really the cream of the crop. The ideal scenario will be to play 8 & 4. For those that disagree, I guess we will see next year. Bengi

Congratulations to the Ice Rebels for their well deserved victory. I would also like to congratulate the Ice Dragons for their runner up playing their 2nd game of the day. Both teams are very good and the Stallions/Titan Gold look forward to the competition next year. Carey, I agree with you that both the Ice Dragons & Ice Rebels are 2 great teams but please don't forget about the stallions/Titan Gold : ) I can assure you that our team will be much improved next year as we have already recruited arguably the best 2006 player around and we will also be combining the best players from our Black team. For a first year together our team surprised many and we will surely surprise everyone even more next year! Great year and let all the 2006's enjoy their first year of novice!!!

Carey, honestly I would boycott all Pro-Hockey run tourneys as well all the CCHA. Having done both of them this year with my 2004's & the Toronto Cup Challenge last year I can honestly say that they are extremely unfairly run and give every advantage they can to the Toronto teams. For instance at the CCHA this year, they purposely gave our team the 8 am game on both the Friday & Saturday & then made us play at noon (only 2 hrs rest) vs both Toronto teams (which was also only their 1st game of the day). To me that is totally disrespectful to make a tourney so unfair. On top of that the reffing was home cooking all weekend when we played the Toronto teams whenever the game was close in the 3rd period. In one game the ref even had the nerve to tell our coach that there were some kids in the stands that were distracting the Toronto goalie and to take care of them!!! Those kids were simply just playing a mini soccer game in the arena and you seriously couldn't notice them. However from my past experience, the Can-Lan run tourneys are well run including the King of the Rings which to me is the best tourney going in Toronto.

One of the things that happens in AAA hockey from year to year is to make adjustments and that is what we are currently looking at doing in order to make all our teams as competitive as possible while still focussing on our #1 philosophy of development. In order to develop, our kids need to learn how to earn everything from playing time to their spot on the team. Many kids at this age get pushed by the parents (meaning that the parents want it more than the kids sometimes) or given playing time & a spot on the team, but in the long run you want it to come from the kids and not the parents. If this is the philosophy you want your child to be around, then our program is for you.

This camp is open to all 2006 born players that feels like trying out (LEAAAQ or THAAAQ) to represent Quebec at the KOTR (King of the Rings) tourney in Toronto the weekend of August 16th-18th. From what I've been advised is that the Rockets are in, but the Jr CH are out, Jr Lions are out, & a team from QC will be out and potentially even les Cascades. This new super THAAAQ is exactly what Quebec needed. Félicitation for getting it right... finally!

Armada non je ne suis pas la personne qui va faire la sélection du Brick 2004. Mais d'apres mon expérience, les organisateurs du Brick ne va surement pas envoyé des invitations durant l'été. On va surement seulement les recevoirs a la derniere minute comme toute les autres année alors je vais prendre l'iniative de mettre ensemble les meilleurs 20-30 joueurs 2004 pour faire une pratique par semaine de 1.5 heures pour créé de la chimie et pour créé une ambiance d'équipe pour que quand c'est le temps de choisir l'équipe au moins on va avoir une meilleur chance de performer au tournois.

I honestly don't expect any invitations for the Brick 2004 this summer. However, I'm planning on preparing a group of the best 20-30 2004's to start training & practicing together once a week to start creating chemistry and team play so that once the official team is made there will already be some good things in place.

Dans le THAAAQ il ne laisse aucun joueur/joueuse joué dans une catégorie plus jeune. Dans le LEAAAQ ca me surprendrait pas par conte. Comme notre coach a précisé, il n'y a absolument pas de 2005 qui joue pour notre équipe Stallions/Titan Gold 2006. Par conte je peux vous dire que notre équipe ne son pas tous des 2006. On a deux joueur/joueuse née en 2007! En plus on a aussi 3 autre née vers la fin de l'année 2006 (donc 1 en décembre, 1 en novembre, et un en octobre). Alors félicitation a toute nos petits/petites Stallions/Titan Gold 2006 pour avoir gagné leurs 2ieme tournois. Toutes nos parents et coaches sont tres fiere de vous. J'aimerais aussi félicité les Prices AAA et toute autre équipe ce weekend. Continuer de travaillé fort et la progression va venir!!! Bengi

Here's my rankings of the top 6; 1- Ice Rebels (very deserving of the best team to date in the 2006's). 2- Stallions Titans Gold (won in Quebec City & lost 1-0 to Ice Rebels at St-Hubert semi-finals without one of their top players. They fell short however at the Meltdown vs the runner up in the semi-finals. Overall they have good depth & great goalie). 3- Ice Dragons (a few very offensively talented kids but missing depth). 4- Nordiques AAA QC (very solid team but would have liked to see them at the Meltdown). 5- Stars TBT (I haven't seen them play yet). 6- Espoirs Québec (strong team, but missing something to beat the top 4 consistently). There is great talent in the 2006's which is amazing to watch some of the progression of these teams from their first tourney to last week. I wonder how they will be at the tourney of Champions!!! Congratulations to the Titan/Stallions 2006 Gold for bringing home the Cup at this weekends tournament in Quebec City. All the kids played their hearts out despite having a very tough draw and missing one of their important players who's out with a broken wrist. All the parents are extremely proud of all you!!! I'd like to also congratulate all the teams that made it to Sunday. The competition is extremely fierce in the 2006's and it's amazing to watch the talent out there. Great tourney!!! First off I would like to congratulate all the teams this past weekend in Quebec City. All the kids worked really hard and hearing what was going on in this blog is honestly childish. The reality is that the results of today do not necessarily mean they will be the same tomorrow. Kids & teams all progress differently and everyone needs to look at the big picture rather than the short sightedness of present. I`ve always said that competition brings out the best of the kids & worst of the parents. Please all prove me wrong and let the competition bring out only the best of the kids!!! Personally I would rather lose with class than win with arrogance. Congratulations to our Stallions/Titan D1 2004's for bringing it home this past weekend.
