  1. Tournoi des Équipes Québec des moins de 12 ans

Drew2005, I wasn't aware that Montreal chose to do that. If it was indeed a choice they made, their peewee AAA major team have not won a game all year & their minor team is one of the best if not the best. What is the correct decision in terms of development ..... I am not sure..... However, I know Montreal also chose to select a 2004 goalie in relève so I'm not sure they are following their rule fully.
  2. Tournoi des Équipes Québec des moins de 12 ans

Questions to all as I don't have the exact answers. How many 2004's last year made it to Peewee AAA major last year? How many 2005's this year made it to Peewee AAA major? My opinion of the 2005's is that it's not an excessively strong cuvée overall when you compare it to the 2003's & 2004's. Again my opinion is that the 2003's have lots or more high end talent compared to the 2004's but the 2004's are much deeper in talent. It's very difficult to compare cuvée to cuvée for sure but that's what I see. One very important thing I've noticed in LSL region is that many of the 2005-2006-2007 simply have not bought into doing extra training which will eventually bite them I think. The 2008's have bought in a bit but not in huge numbers. There's always a few parents that think they can do it better themselves & think they are saving a few $$ but don't realize the damage or lack of development they are giving their kids. Bottom line is if you do invest in extra training, continue it even once you get into the structure. People think that just because you are in the structure & spending $3-4K that you are getting everything you need. The reality is that you aren't & you should always be working on your individual skills & trying to improve on your skating.
  3. Meilleurs instructeurs d'hockey à Montreal

Here's my opinion based on experience of the top private trainers I would pay for & what they do best in no particular order; Marco Raimondo (goalie trainer) -simply the best for intensity, work ethic, mental toughness, technique. Raz & Karel Svoboda -skills, battle drills, small details, mental toughness, body contact, team concepts, PP, shooting, positioning, etc. -best trainer for elite hockey players outside the NHL. -still trains NHL players in their off season. Marcin Snita -Stickhandling, edging, power skating, body contact, battle drills, flow drills, etc. -still trains NHL players in their off season. Gaston Gingras -Passing, hockey sense, power skating. Giovanni Iasenza -Defense, passing, hockey sense, flow drills, hockey development, teaching of the small details of the game. Anna Sherbatov -power skating (novice elite to pro) Palladini -power skating fundamentals (mahg to Novice A) Turcotte -stick handling fundamentals (mahg to Atome)
  4. Tournoi pee wee de Quebec

It is now official that the LSL South team will be wearing & representing the Montreal Canadiens jerseys at this years prestigious Quebec City Peewee tournament. Congratulations to all the players & coaches for working hard & earning the honor. Hopefully there will be another Habs vs Nordiques game like last year! : ) Good luck to all the teams that were selected to this prestigious tourney.
  5. Saison 2016-2017 - Pee-Wee AAA - Meilleures équipes

Estrien, with all due respect you have absolutely no clue of what you're talking about. The Lions did not "recruit" anyone or tell anyone to move to LSL. My son is one of those that moved over to LSL this past summer from Laval for many reasons, not just hockey. I can tell you one thing, my son never got any "development" from the Laval region. He got good by training with great trainers & coaches he had during both in season training sessions & spring AAA. The same can be said for Duclair & Drouin. Both those guys trained with the Jr. Lions program in the offseason from a very young age just like my son (since the age of 5 years old). The only difference is that today, parents are a lot wiser & moving to the LSL region in Peewee rather then Bantam or Midget. So if you ever think Duclair & Drouin were "developed" by other regions I think you're just fooling yourself.

  7. Saison 2016-2017 - Pee-Wee AAA - Meilleures équipes

Maskoutain2003, sorry if I misunderstood your post..... my French is about as good as DJrob's DJ'ing .....
  8. Saison 2016-2017 - Pee-Wee AAA - Meilleures équipes

Maskoutain2003 you simply sound like a jealous fool. You assume that people sell their house & buy in LSL just for hockey..... you do know what happens when you assume right? I'm one of those who made the jump to LSL from Laval but let me tell you hockey was not our number 1 reason. For us personally it was ALL school related. My son was starting high school and in Laval there was only 1 choice of public English school which wasn't a good fit academically for us when combined with hockey because last year our son was getting home every night past 8:30PM. We chose an English public school that had a sport etudes and which will let my son in the future finish school & hockey at 6PM latest. The bonus part for us was that LSL has taken over the hockey program and we will get proven top notch hockey development. People can say what they want about LSL, but they cannot take away the elite hockey players they have developed over the years. Before making assumptions and putting them on a public forum you should try going straight to the source and get your story straight. If you don't do that you simply look like a jealous fool.

  11. des 1 iere annee dans de AAA

AL, very interesting stats indeed. Did the Maple Leafs contact you yet for your analytics!  That would make sense that there's about 2 first year players on average per team. I personally believe it's a very difficult step to make for a first year as they need to be able to handle the physical aspect of playing with kids 1 year older. I'm sure if you further looked into the first year players that made it you will notice that they are usually bigger kids that are strong physically.
  12. BRICK 2016 - 2006

Carey, no disrespect to anyone especially not MG but I was speaking in general. MG's son that year definitely deserved to be on the team.... maybe not as a center, but for sure part of the forwards at that time, but he would have had to definitely fight for his position. That 2004 year was very special as the 2 best Ottawa players that ended up playing with the Bulldogs would have come to play with the Ice Storm if things were different.
  13. BRICK 2016 - 2006

Here's my take on the Brick. Do not waste your time thinking that things are about to change on how it's managed or timeline on when the team will be made or put together. Further, do not waste your valuable money on the Brick when there are alternative tournaments that are just as good if not bigger & better such as "The Show" that took place in Minnesota this past year for the 2004's & this coming year there are rumors that it will take place in Montreal for the 2004's. The Show is much less costly and just as equal in terms of competition. I would like to add that the 2004 talent level in Quebec was top notch and should have won the tournament. The problem was that the license belonged to the Ice Storm and they lost some of the top talented players who either left to go play with another team or simply chose not to play for the Ice Storm. Despite that, the 2004's still had a good run by actually making it to Sunday for the first time since 1996 I believe. My experience with the Ice storm was that they want to do things their own way & are extremely threatened by making any changes or losing control of the player selection process. They always latch onto someone that knows the age group in question & convince them to come on board as a manager as this person usually has most of the contact info of the better players for that year. The Ice Storm basically want that manager to be a "yes man" and some people will gladly want that role as it guarantees a place for their son on that team. The 2003 & 2004 years were exactly like that to the point where the manager for the 2003's was the parent of an underclassed player who was so disappointed with the Ice Storm group that he luckily got a release to go play the following year with another team that lost in the finals with the 2004's. He came in as manager thinking he was going to right the ship, but right after he gave Rusk all the contact info of the 2003 players, he was basically pushed asside.
  14. THE SHOW ! CANADA vs U.S.A

Cost breakdown from what I'm hearing is; $100 or so to tryout. $1200 CAD for the tounament whch includes jerseys, socks. I checked flights from Montreal to Minesota & it came up to approximately $1300 total for 2 people there & back. The only other cost would be hotel & food. Just goes to SHOW (excuse the pun) how much the Brick has been ripping everyone off. : )
  15. THE SHOW ! CANADA vs U.S.A

WOW this is HUGE!!! Finally a 2nd Brick type tournament that will be run properly in Quebec by a competent organization/people that will choose the very BEST kids & coaches of the province because they really know the kids. BIGGER, BETTER, STRONGER & of course CHEAPER than the Brick Tourney... I'm definitely on board for this one.

  18. Es ce qu'il va un Mach des etoiles ??

I didn't say the players that get invited to this All-Star don't belong or don't deserve to be there. It's just that in some cases there are mistakes that happen (either voluntary or not due to politics, etc) and we forget that they are still kids of 9-10 years old at the Atome BB level. Believe it or not, the kids know when things are not done fairly. That's why I think you simply get rid of this silly game that really means nothing in the end.
  19. Es ce qu'il va un Mach des etoiles ??

My personal opinion is that they should simply get rid of this All-Star game as it causes more stupidity than anything else. At LN, there were apparently 4 kids selected (1 forward, 1 defenseman & 2 goalies) of which one of the best forwards in the league was not chosen or probably even considered because they probably didn't even submit his name. Further, apparently one of the Blainville teams have absolutely no representatives. Honestly, this event is a disgrace & slap in the face to many kids & my son was one of the kids chosen.
