The Stallions won the 2012 edition of the Boston Ice Breaker tourney this past weekend in Boston by a score of 5-2 vs the Jr Nordiques. I would like to congratulate the Jr Nordiques for a great final. They are an excellent team and the score didn't indicate how close the game actually was as we scored 2 empty net goals. Felicitation au 2 equipes de Quebec!!!

Congratulations to the Ice Storm. Not easy winning a tourney in Toronto but you guys did it.

Stallions Champions of the Boston Ice Breaker

Je ne pense pas que les Stallions vont retourner en 2013 à Boston. We originally scheduled this tourney because we wanted the body contact. Our team experienced this last year and it was incredible hockey. We were a bit disappointed that they took it out. None the less, it was a great tourney competition wise with the exception of the reffing being ridiculously bad and one sided in many games. -
Un petit rapel. This team will be the same management group as the 2003 & 2004's that have been very dominant in their respective age groups. It's all about development for us and the results will come.
-
I think in the 2004's, there's 1 Elite player way above everyone else that has the skill, size, speed, grit, hockey sense, and most importantly the vision. After that, there's about 5 players that have tremendous skills and great hockey sense and a bit of vision, but lacking in other areas such as size, speed, grit, etc. After those 6 players, you fall into the players that are very one dimentional where they have great speed, but lack vision or have a great shot, but don't have the speed, etc.

I disagree DJRob. In my opinion there's still only one impact player in the 2004's and congratulations to him for being named the player of the game in the finals of the 2003 Supers at the Meltdown this past weekend. An incredible achievement. There are other good players in the 2004's for sure, but they aren't impact players. Many of the names still on the list from last year are still there this year with a few new ones added. I believe the 2004 crop is very strong however. Let's see how the summer tourneys go. Bonne chance to all the teams going to Boston, Kingston, Toronto, & the final tourney of the summer in August, the King of the Rings II.

I wouldn't call them alliances but more just kids going to have some fun and play hockey. The Stallions/Titan Gold are not sending their team to Kingston, however a few of their players have been recruited to play with other teams. From what I know, #'s 6, 9, & 11 are playing for the Jr CH Rouge. #4 is playing with the Jr CH Bleu. #76 is playing with the East Selects. There are also 2 or 3 players from the Black team going to play with the East Selects. I believe also #87 from the Ice Storm is going to play with the Jr CH Bleu as well. It should be a nice way to spend the Canada Day long weekend.

This weekend is the last offical THAAAQ tourney of the AAA season for teams to make their mark. Here are some of my picks for the top 4 teams; Jr Nordiques Lightning Gouverneurs Selects Stallions/Titan Black I'm gonna pick the Stallions/Titan Black winning the tourney in the finals vs the Jr Nordiques. My picks are biased but I know that the Stallions/Titan Black team finally have their entire roster for the entire tourney as of Friday afternoon. Bonne chance à toute les équipes.

2eme Championnat pour les ROCKETS Ouest 2004
stallions2004 a répondu à un sujet de Rockets AAA 2004 dans 2004
Kidhockey2004, there are no rules against kids playing both for the THAAAQ and the ATEQ. The only rule in place I believe is that you are only allowed to have a maximum of 4 THAAAQ players on your ATEQ team. That being said, I believe there was a alliance formed between the Rockets organization and the Jr CH Bleu team at the beginning of the year which has obviously helped both teams. Bravo au Rockets pour leur excellent année dans le Ateq. Also nice to see the Wolfpack doing well. Great job to all et bonne été. -

Premièrement féclicitation au Champions Les Gouverneurs et les meilleurs 2ième Nordiques Jr. I think the Stallions/Titan Black gave the Nordiques Jr more than they thought in the semi's losing 3-1 (the 3rd goal being an empty netter). After getting a good lesson of hockey the day before our boys came out and showed what they are capable of and we are extremely proud of all our kids. It's obvious what we need to work on but it shows we can compete with the best of them. After this weekend, here is my top 10 (please feel free to disagree); 1- Stallions/Titan Gold (2 Championships, 1 runner up, 1 1/4 finals. Only lost to Jr Nordiques & Jr Lions in Quebec competition). 2- Jr CH Bleu (0 Championships, 2 runner ups, 1 semi-finals. Only lost to Stallions/Titan Gold twice). 3- Gouverneur Selects (1 Championship, 1 runner up, 1 semi-finals, 1 1/4 finals). 4- Nordiques Jr (1 Championship, 1 runner up, 2 semi-finals). 5- Ice Storm (1 Championship, 2 1/4 finals). Correct me if I'm wrong. 6- Jr CH Red (0 Championships, 1 1/4 finals). A bit unlucky with their draw. 7- Stallions Black (1 Championship, 1 semi-finals, 1 1/4 finals). 8- Jr Lions (beat the Stallions Gold & tied them). 9- Scorpions 10- Lightning -
I would just like to congratulate the 2004 Stallions/Titan Black team who have officially won the 2012 Repentigny Tourney. As I've mentioned in previous posts that I thought they would surprise a few teams but this weekend it looks like they surprised everyone and were able to capture the Championship vs a tough Kings AAA team in the finals by a score of 3-2 in OT. It was a great game for the spectators filled with lots of intensity and heart stopping moments from both teams. The Stallions/Titan family are extremely proud of all the kids who stepped up to the plate when it mattered most. So far the Stallions 2004 family in 3 tourneys have won 2 Championships & have 1 runner up. Go Stallions Go!!! Next tourneys; Stallions/Titan Black; Rosemere Tourney May 18th-20th. Stallions/Titan Gold; Toronto Challenge Cup May 18th-20th. Good luck to all the teams et felicitation encore au Stallions/Titan Black!

On se voit à Kingston How do you know that I would have said NO if you never asked? I like how you keep putting it out there that you guys are a new team. Get over it as there have been plenty of new teams out there. I personally don't consider you guys as a new team anyhow as 95% of your players played AAA hockey last year and most of them actually won tournaments as well. A new team in my books is a team where 80-90% of the players didn't actually play any AAA hockey the previous year (teams like HST, NRJ, and the Stallions Black).
-
Good point on the Lightning. Them, NRJ (who played us very tough at the NRJ tourney), & the Kings AAA to me are a toss up for the final two spots in the top 10. It would have been nice to see our Stallions Gold team give your CH Jr Bleu team another chance to try and beat us Sunday morning but unfortunately it wasn't the case. Mike, aren't you adding the Stallions Gold's top goal scorer for Kingston as well? I wouldn't be surprised at all if you're adding others too. At the end of the day there's nothing wrong with that. Let the kids have fun and get used to competiting versus the best.
-
Kidhockey2004, with all due respect, you are correct that everyone is catching up. This has nothing to do with it being ''all about the Stallions''. I personally was very impressed by the Ice Storm but on a Thursday night there was other 8 year old kids that had a bad game and not only the Ice Storm goalie. The gap will continue to get closer as the years go by if you know anything about hockey. I guarantee you that a team that the CH Blue beat 20-0 in early April would only be approximately 16-0 now in early June if they played again. Further, the more teams play against each other, the more they adapt and create strategies to counter another teams strengths and the score gets closer. Next year with Super AAA coming in, hopefully some teams will merge and create even better competition because at the end of the day that's what will drive kids to push themselves to play at another level.
-
Mike, the last thing I want to do is get into a war of words with anyone on a public blog. The person/team I'm talking about know who they are. Thank you for once again pointing out all our loses, but remember that we also beat you guys 3-2 in QC and 4-2 at St-Hubert  . I believe our current Stallions Gold Team that we are bringing to Toronto King of the Rings has a chance to beat THR. Although you believe we are offensively challenged, please don't be fooled by our lack of goals scored. On se revoie a Kingston where you might just get a little taste of how offensively challenged we are and where you might also finally get your chance to play versus the Jr Canadiens Red team to see who really is the better CH team! :D
-
First off I would like to congratulate THR for their Championship win. They were by far the best team in the tourney. 7-1 in the finals shows how smart, deep, strong, etc they are. Jr Canadiens Bleu congratulations on making another final as well. As for all the bitching and promoting of our Quebec teams, the reality is that having been in Toronto 3 weeks ago and playing/seeing the top Toronto 2004 teams (THR, Top Gun, Regional Gold, Mad Dogs), Lucic/Tony is correct in saying we are a step behind Toronto. I do however believe that our top Quebec teams are better than Conneticut & Boston. Although Boston beat the Stallions Gold, it was obvious that they weren't the better team. The Stallions Gold dominated possession and had the better scoring chances but sometimes as they say "the game is played on the ice" and hats off to Boston for taking us down. If I had to rank the top 10 Quebec teams after this weekend I would rank them as follows; 1- Stallions Gold 2- Jr Canadiens Bleu 3- Petit Nordiques 4- Gouverneurs 5- Ice Storm 6- Jr Lions 7- Canadiens Jr Red 8- Stallions Black 9- NRJ 10- Kings AAA One thing people forget is that the Stallions Gold played the entire spring season without the best 2004 player in the province because one team in particular was bitching and complaining that we would be too strong and that it wouldn't be fair. Some teams even were threatening to boycott certain tournaments we were in. To me that's the problem with hockey in Quebec. Some people come on this blog to promote how good they are yet they are afraid of the true competition even though they say bravo to the competition! To me that's called being a hypocrite. Bonne chance to every team participating in Boston, Kingston, Philly, & the King of the Rings.

Stallions/Titan Black 2004 Champions de Repentigny!!!
stallions2004 a répondu à un sujet de stallions2004 dans 2004
Simili, oui les Gold les connaits très bien. Many of the kids from the Black team have been following the Stallions training programs this past winter. The Black team was put together at the very last minute because we felt we had enough quality kids that would benefit from playing a few AAA tourneys in the spring. We also knew that they had 4 months of training with our quality trainers to improve their skills. There's no secret to our success, believe in skill training throughout the year instead of having a team play together all year. Some teams have been practicing together since September while the Stallions prefer working/focussing on their skills. We realize it will usually take our teams at least one tourney to gel together, but once they do their progression just gets stronger as the spring turns into summer. -

Martin, I agree with you that the Stallions Black would need to add a few top players from other teams (ie. hence my merging comment). I would say that right now they are about 6-8 players away, however if a team like the Ice Storm/Jr Lions/Jr Canadiens Rouges etc (je dis n'importe quel équipe) merged with the Stallions Black then they would definitely be very competitive in Super AAA next year. Anyhow, enough with Super AAA talk as it's still very far away and lots of things can happen/change from now until then! However, knowing Mr. Lucic (Aka Tony), he won't let one of his teams play Super if they weren't competitive :D -

Bonjour Martin, what are the pre-requisites for going Super? I thought it was that you either had to win or make a final the previous year. I could definitely be wrong, but that's what I've been told. -

Hockeykid007 I agree with you 100%. They won a very nice tourney but there was a lot of powerful teams missing at Repentigny. Rosemere will be a little more difficult as I believe the Canadiens Jr Rouge & and the Jr Lions are in this tourney. I'm sure however that they will still surprise a few teams in this tourney  Also, with last weeks win at Repentigny, The Stallions/Titan can now potentially put two teams in Super AAA next year and potentially even create a regular team. However before this happens, there will surely need to be some mergers. Time will tell, but lets all let the current AAA season play itself out. -

Simili AAA, moi je dis que oui. To me there is a core group of 6 kids that could easily play with the Gold team. In fact the Gold team played a 2003 Regular team missing 4 regulars from the Gold team and we replaced them with 3 players from the Black team earlier this year and beat a very good 2003 Regular team (a team that lost by 1 to the eventual St-Hubert 2003 Regular Champs this past weekend). Our 2004 Black team has a very good defense and Goalie. I believe both of our 2004 teams are built around that and as they say.... defense wins Championships!!! -
Pas de problème Martin. Ils ont aussi gagné vs the Vipers 2004 4-0. They will be better than most people think but they obviously still have a lot of work to do. We will be very happy if they make it to a couple of Sundays!
-
Djrob, last time I checked it was a free country. It's their choice at the end of the day. Next year this will all be solved with Super AAA coming into to play. That should seperate the stronger & weaker teams. Get used to it because your son still has another year of Novice to play and it won't be any better!
-
I don't want to get in a war of words with Djrob (AKA Robin V) but the score was 9-3 vs his sons 2nd team the Mustangs 2004 and from the recap I got of the game, it was 2-2 going into the 3rd period with the Mustangs being severely overplayed (the score could have easily been 4 or 5 to 1 at the time for the Stallions Black). Obviously the 3rd period was all Mustangs as they capitalized on many mistakes, but that's why they are called exhibition games. Here are some scores of their games; 9-3 Loss to Mustangs 2004. 9-2 Win vs HST Hawks 2004. 9-0 Win vs NRJ 2004. 5-1 Win vs Ice Storm Lightning 2004. 6-1 Loss vs Ice Storm Black 2004 (same team that was at St-Hubert). 8-2 Win vs Ice Storm Lightning 2004. From here on in, I'll let the kids do the talking with their play on the ice. Good luck to the Stallions Black 2004.
