Bonjour/Hello, Gaston Gingras Training is back/Perfectionnement Gaston Gingras est de retour. His NHL resume speaks for itself. Gaston was a STANLEY CUP winning defenseman with the 1986 Montreal Canadiens. A 10 year NHL veteran with the Canadiens, Maple Leafs, & Blues. Gaston played with Hall of famers such as Larry Robinson, Bob Gainey, Brett Hull, Steve Shutt, & Patrick Roy to name a few. Known for his booming slap shot, Gaston was a puck moving offensive defenseman that was often manning the point on the powerplay. Gaston is extremely proud of his son Sebastien who won the NCAA Frozen Four last year with Union College while holding a 3.85 GPA and being on the ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team as a Neuroscience major. If you look back 2 years ago in Novice A, the better teams were Mirabel, Laval-Nord, Victoriaville, Laval-Est. Knowing that alot has changed since then, I would expect the following teams to be very good this year in Atome BB; Lakeshore- if they go down to only 1 BB team instead of 2. Pierrefonds- if none of their top players get surclassed to Peewee, but I've heard they are weak at the goalie position which is key in Atome BB. Laval-Est- two top goalies, a solid core of returning defenseman, and a few good pieces up front. Mirabel- well coached, some really good pieces up front, but they have lost some players to scolaire & need help at the goalie position from what I was told. Victoriaville- they have the best defenseman in QC and arguably North America/Brick MVP, some really good pieces up front as well & they are well coached. Laval-Nord- extremely deep on defense (5 played 2004 D1), elite game changers at every position, lots of size of defense & in goal with one of the goalies being really solid, and a total of 6 2004 D1 forwards. They lack size up front but they do have a couple of game changers up front. I'm sure I'm missing some other good teams especially from the Quebec City region.

My personal opinion is that kids should not get surclassed from Atom BB to Peewee AAA as it's simply too big of a step. I agree however to surclassing from Atom BB to Peewee AA as it makes way more sense physically.

Tony, like all the other Stallions that had their Brick experience, we are proud of all of their performances no matter what the results. I know for a fact that it couldn't have been easy making the decision to go play with the Bulldogs knowing that your decision was going to be scrutinized and put under the microscope. You put yourself out there and I could of just imagine the comments that would of come out on this forum if the Bulldogs didn't make it to the Finals or worse, not make it to the playoff round. That being said, not many people saw how much of a commitment you made to attending practices every weekend in Toronto & giving up playing with the 2003 Elite team that would of probably been more challenging for your son. Further, there was also a huge commitment to make our 2004's better through the training sessions you organized at NTR including some of the players that were going to the Brick with the Ice Storm.

JC, not really sure who you are but if you really think Tony has that much control over everyone & everyones decision making you must really be jealous of him which I feel quite sad for you. Tony never once told myself to not go to the Brick tournament. At the end of the day, I believe people listened to stories of past ice Storm Brick experiences (which at the time were not all that positive given their history) and weighed the pros & cons of spending a huge amount of coin ($$$). I know for a fact that some even asked a few professional trainers about the importance of their son going to the Brick. All this to say that everyone needs to respect the decisions of those that decided on going to the Brick AND ALSO those that decided on not going to the Brick and to stop the finger pointing or using it as an excuse.

AAA2003QC, my son did not go to the Brick like I had mentioned and for those that know him I will let them tell you if he's one of the top defenseman or not. Sorry if I offended anyone by mentioning numbers on this post.

Mon gars n'a pas jouer au Brick cette saison car on a decide d'aller depense $8000 pour une vacance en famille dans le sud au mois d'aout : ) Top Ice, just to let you know that there were at least 5 other very Elite players from the Stallions Elite team that did not go play with the Ice Storm Brick team this year (either not getting chosen or deciding to simply not go after getting chosen). Remember that the 4 Stallion players that were on the Brick team + the 5 that did not go beat semi finalist (Boston Jr Bruins) & the finalist (Toronto Bulldogs) in a spring tournament this year on the same day. Not to take anything away from the Ice Storm, but they could have been much better if all the best players were there. It's a debate for the ages, but I believe without a doubt that Quebec would have won this years edition of the Brick if the right players went.
