Here is the problem..... The IS Brick do their own thing and live in a bubble involving 1-2 people that have their own agenda's in mind. It is currently mid February and their team isn't close to being finalized and probably won't be finalized until end of March. If the IS Brick would have started their process in September and completed 90-95% of their team by Jan 1st, then having 1 team to represent the 2004's makes total sense. However the reality is that they haven't made their team yet & in the 2004's, if 4-8 players get chosen by end of March from 1 specific team (ie. Stallions or Goyette's Vikings), then they are basically being forced to fold their respective AAA teams and leaving their teammates out to dry without a team to play for.

Keep everything open like in Ontario. Let teams play where they want and with who they want. Let them also choose which tourneys they want to play. Competition will force everyone to become better.... from organizations to tournament organizers. That's how hockey players in Quebec will get better!

I'll tell everyone straight out what the problem with hockey in Quebec;
1- Talent pool is too watered down at the Atom level. There should be an Atom AA with a maximum of 15 teams across the province to maximize competition.
2- Not enough practices that are of any quality.
3- Coaches that simply aren't qualified enough to teach kids proper skills or even have a proper yearly plan for their team. I know on our BB team practices are planned the day of and our coach has done zero skills development with the exception of 1 hour every 2 weeks that the parents pay extra for a professional trainer. Simple question, who coaches our elite coaches here in Quebec and mentors them?
4- Political BS in every association that favour certain players based on who they know rather than what their kid has earned.
 
I know that the elite players in Quebec have one thing in common which is no secret.... They do extra quality training for which they pay extra for.
 
I actually had my BB coach tell me at the beginning of the year that Gaston Gingras is terrible as a trainer and that he didn't want me to do his training! Two reasons why he said that... 1) he didn't want me to miss the BB practices or tire out my son & 2) jealousy due to the fact that my son was getting extra training that he couldn't provide for all his BB team surely or because my son doesn't play for his AAA Team that he runs in the spring.

Gally11, I respect your opinion but let's wait and see where all the teams end up. I am still predicting that there will only be only 1 league in 2014. I can see the LEAAAQ 2.0 merging forces with the THAAAQ and everyone working together for once..... at least that is what I'm hoping Santa will bring me ; )

Laval-Nord on gagné 5-0 vs Blainville1 samedi. Blainville on frappé un cross bar et le gardien de LN a faite 2 arret de la mittaine incroyable alors je dirais le frais score du match étais bcp plus proche qu'il démontre.
 
Dimanche, Laval-Nord on gagné 3-1 contre Mascouche. Mascouche ont eu pas plus que 5 lancé au but toute le match mais le score était seulement 1-1 apres la 2ieme période, un match tres serré. Je dirais a mon avis que l'arbitrage laissait bcp passé qui on vraiment aidé Mascouche car ils ont joué tres physique. Bravo a leur gardien qui a joué un excellent match pour gardé sont équipe dans le matche.

The 2004 KOTR Team were not allowed to enter this tourney in the 2003 level unforetunately because there was a team that threatened to withdraw because they felt we were to strong. What does that tell you about the level of this tourney?

I don't feel it's appropriate to name kids on a blog that made a team at 6-7 yrs old. But I can tell you that some players that were selected from very good teams didn't want to commit to going. That being said, the talent & skill level that were at the tryout camp was incredible to watch and the team that was selected is very skilled and I cannot wait to get them practicing & playing together. Having gone through this process with the 2004's two years ago I can say it's a very fun experience for the parents, coaches, and more importantly the kids! The competition in Toronto is bar none the top level competition in North America at this age group.

Maskoutain2003, these practices are not team practices but more training session run by a paid trainer so it's totally allowed and we are not breaking any hockey QC rules. They are just like any other power skating clinics that you pay for during the year. If you don't agree with it for whatever reason that's totally your choice as nobody is forcing you or anyone else to do them.
 
As for winning the Brick at all cost.... well that's again your opinion. My opinion is that if I'm going to spend over $7000, I want to make sure that I go there to have a chance at winning it to enhance the experience and to do something that no other Quebec Brick team has ever done. Everyone in the past have sat on the sidelines and waited for the Brick organizers to do something.... the results have been obvious. The Stallions organization is trying to take the bull by the horns a little bit and trying a different approach.
 
If you think the talent is there to make another team I highly encourage you to take the bull by the horns yourself and put a 2nd team together. My opinion is that there is a big drop in talent after the top 20-26 kids are chosen, especially at the defense position. However I do agree with you that the 2004 crop is very talented compared to other provinces and regions.

Congratulations to the Titan/Stallions 2006 Gold for bringing home the Cup at this weekends tournament in Quebec City. All the kids played their hearts out despite having a very tough draw and missing one of their important players who's out with a broken wrist. All the parents are extremely proud of all you!!!
 
I'd like to also congratulate all the teams that made it to Sunday. The competition is extremely fierce in the 2006's and it's amazing to watch the talent out there. Great tourney!!!

Congratulations to the Ice Rebels for winning the final fairly easily vs the Ice Dragons 5-2.
 
After the St-Hubert Tourney, by rankings of the best 4 teams are;
 
1- Ice Rebels (great skating team).
2- Ice Dragons (a few great scorers and they play a good passing game).
3- Stallions/Titan Gold (gave the Ice Rebels a great game in the semi-finals losing 1-0 despite missing 3 breakaways & hitting 1 post. They were also playing the entire tourney without one of their top players who broke his wrist. Their goalie is by far the best one I've seen out there).
4- Nordiques AAA (a couple of great skaters and a team to watch out for!)
