Comme j'ai déjà expliqué, il y a 2 raisons pourquoi nous somme en D2.

 

L'an passé sur 4 tournois nous en avions gagné seulement 2. Nous faisions parties des équipes fortes mais pas les plus fortes. C'est vrai que notre équipe est composé de quelque joueurs D1 mais aussi de D2 et quelque D3. Ils sont tous amis et le printemps est la seul période de l'année ou ils peuvent jouer ensemble. Dans le AAA c'est l'équipe qui dois être classé et non le joueurs de façon individuel comme a l'hiver. Donc nous avons cru que D2 serait la Division la plus acceptable.

 

Deuxièmement,  les tournois en D1 sont plus rares et plus éloigné de la rive nord (Boucherville/Châteauguay) ce qui demande encore plus de temps. Nous en tant qu'équipe, fessons tout notre possible pour que les jeunes manque aucun vendredi d'école vous savez comme moi quand Mai et Juin c'est la période d'examens. En plus ,nos joueurs sont pratiquement tous dans des sport d'été (Baseball/Soccer) ce qui demande encore plus de temps pour pratiquer les deux sport en mai.

 

 

Notre dernier tournois est en D1 la premiere semaine de Juin a Boisbriand, on va tenter d'évaluer notre équipe pour voir si l'an prochain on pourrais être D1.

 

 

 

BTW, Choqué vous pas ;-) c'est que l'An passé nous avions joué contre une équipe 2008 et avion gagné 14 a 0 en 2 périodes au tournois de Laval et je me rappelle d'avoir vue le visage des petits gars et croyez moi personne avais du plaisir la dedans. Mais je comprend que c'est une mode dans le hockey de monté les jeunes d'un niveau d'âge , les parents sont fier et les coachs croit que ca les développe . Personnellement moi j'embarque pas la dedans.

@CrazyMomWithABaby I think we can all agree that the Royals 08D1 still had no business being in this category. The coaches decision was a bad one obviously. What did their team learn by playing 07D1? That they cannot compete 1 year up in D1? Is that what they want to remember about that weekend? What was positive about this experience for them?  

 

Also, when you say they adjusted after their 1st periods, you also want to make sure to indicate that opposing teams probably slowed down their own pace.

 

It was a tough weekend for them, no matter how people interpret it. I do wish them best of luck vs Vickings 08D1 in their upcoming tournament...that will be their real challenge.

I totally agree, i saw part of the end of the game against the Moose, and honestly, They slowed down and we're praticing their passes. I saw the Jr. Moose coaches laid back and tell the kids to take it easy. I don't believe that it was a positive experience for the young 08. Probably a 2007 D2 would have been more appropriate to learn. I think that in the 2nd and third period the 08 went 3 times in the Moose's zone. Imagine The Moose didn't even win the tournament.

J'ai une question. Vous avez tous joueurs Novice A, mais vous avez dit que l'équipe a 3 D1, 5 D2 et 5 D3... Comment est-ce que c'est possible? Les joueurs Novice B & C sont quoi? D4? lol

Adversity can be a confidence builder or a confidence slayer...losing by that many points is categorized in my books as confidence slayer.

 

I was a bit worried about how the kids were going to react after the games as well, but honestly, I don't think it hurt their confidence.  They were still all happy after the games, playing around, and excited for the next one.  They even thought that if they beat the Lions our team would be headed to the semis lol

 

I don't think we should always look at losing as a bad thing.  Our kids are used to being the top players on their teams and they had an awesome AAA season last year, so maybe it is a good thing to show them that there is still room for improvement.

 

There were a lot of positives that came from this tournament - I don't look at it as a negative experience.  For anyone who watched our team play their first game vs Pirates to the last game vs Lions, it would be impossible to say they couldn't see the improvement.  Our forwards were forced to keep their positioning and learn that they're going nowhere without passing.  Our defense had to adjust to the speed, stick handling, shooting and passing of the older kids - not to mention the physicality in front of the net.  And our goalie faced more shots this tournament than he faced all year in AAA last year. 

 

But again, they would have seen that in the 07D2.

You think so?  I think that if we put our best defenseman against their best forward we will beat the Vikings.

We won't see them until Top Tier though.

 

This weekend, at the Meltdown, is where we'll see some good competition.  The Oilers have a solid team, GTA is always good, and there are also a few teams from the LEHQ side that I'm excited to see.

Les Royals Élites 2008 D1 ne sont pas la crème de la crème dans cette catégorie. Ils ont gagné seulement 2 tournois depuis l'année passé. Les Oilers Élites ont remporté tous les tournois (6) auquels ils ont participés au Québec en plus de faire la final au brick série de Toronto. Les Royals Élites n'ont jamais battu les Oilers Élites et ils ont pas battu les Vikings non plus qui eux ont gagné 2 tournois. Plusieurs disent que les Vikings sont l'équipe d'un seul joueur mais y doit être phénoménal car y gagne. Les Gouverneurs Sélect sont l'équipe d'un seul joueur aussi et y ne se rendent même pas au dimanche donc je crois que les Vikings mérite plus de respect.

 

J'ai très hâte de voir les résultats au meltdown mais je pense qu'on va avoir encore droit à une final Royals-Oilers et je mettrais mon argent sur les Oilers. L'équipe de mon fils a déjà affronté ces 2 équipes et les Oilers sont plus complet selon moi. Dommage que les Vikings ne soit pas au meltdown on aurait pu voir si y font vraiment partie des tops dans cette division.
